  1. 😅🤣😂 the kit looks great. the guide adjust to different angles? mygreathanks and blessings

  2. I didn’t know you were suppose to condishon my stone until it was to late now my brick looks concave can I still yous it

  3. I hike and camp a lot. Let me tell you. I sharped my Bushcraft Moro with this set up. And Sir you have to be very careful when using the knife, it will cut you effortlessly. . And hold its edge. sharped wife’s kitchen knives and she loves it but said they are to sharp. Using these stones and your method is great Thanks. For $25.00 and change can’t beat it.

  4. I bought a similar slide-on angle guide. I used it once and threw it away. It was very tight to fit on the blade, and any little bit of slurry from the sharpening that gets under it scratches the hell out of the sides of the blade when you try to take it off.

  5. High quality ceramic stones and diamond plates are cheap enough I don’t understand the benefit of waterstones anymore. The slightly lower cost might attract a beginner, but the hassle is much higher I’d still recommend a beginner just go ceramic at least.

  6. Don’t know why YT didn’t notify me on this video. Pretty nice little set up, nice instruction video J

  7. The whole kit cost under $30?
No way it’s a quality sharpening kit. It must be made of shit and sticks

  8. would have been nice to see the included leather strop get tested out as well. Overall still a good review though. I’m buying a similar set that looks identical in pictures but different brand slapped on it. Half the price so I hope it’s like this one.

  9. Man..your a Master Brah. Question: The “Stuff” on the Strop….Will is stay useful while on the strop..days later? Must it be re Applied? If there is visually still “Stuff” on it. Great Vid.

  10. Posting from Japan
I would be happy if you could use Japanese natural whetstones.
Shaving with Opinel Shaving with Mora Knife There is also a video like this
it can be dangerous to see

  11. I bought one of those SHIT Amazoom "$35 knife ruining kits"! They aren’t worth 35 CENTS!!! I bought some GOOD Japan stones (3) for just over $220. Good sharpening stones aren’t cheap; Cheap "dulling stones" aren’t GOOD! Good (Japanese made) diamond steels are even more expensive. There is one brand of US made diamond steels that use Chinese synthetic diamonds that are good. That’s DMT, but they only go to "2500 grit" and I like to "finish" with a 3 micron stone (or mylar film,) about 3 times smoother.

  12. Still going back and forth between getting my first DMT plates, or a setup like this. Primarily for learning on old kitchen knives, and D2 folders. Suggestions?

  13. Just got a couple of Japanese knives in VG1 and VG10 steels. Would this stone set work well for these knives? Thanks for doing this video, as it really helps.

  14. That’s a great value on those stones! I really like the Vosteed kitchen knives too, I actually gifted them to a few family members this past Christmas.

  15. This is one of the Knife Sharpener scammers. Legitimate sharpening companies say the ONLY thing you really need is a 1000 grit stone. Look on YouTube for anyone who sharpens knives using a felt pen to mark the edge. You don’t need this junk.

  16. So the chromium oxide stropping compound that I am using is the reason why I can’t get a good edge? I have aluminum oxide stones, a good quality leather strop, but a chromium oxide stropping compound. I live in South Africa, so to ship good stropping compounds from Amazon may cost as much as the stropping compound itself.

  17. I can be a bit goofy commenting under Jared’s videos and like to discuss the most badassest knife of all-time, in the history of the universe… which is obviously the Dragon Bowie. But I feel this is another good time to be sincere and make the point that there is not one other youtuber that explains the details of the knife sharpening proocess, including stropping, as well as Jerad does.Even in a video where you said you werent going to focus on the actual techniques of sharpening, you freaking nailed so many tiny little detaisl that 99% of other sharpening videos seemingly skips, feels is not important or just svcks at describing. I feel like I should direct anyone thats new to the craft to his channels. But then again I’d rather them suffer through 50-100 shytty knife shaprening videos like I had to before I introduce them to Mr. Kneeves. Obviously Id send them right to Kneeves Knives because more subcribers and likes is best for Jerad’s channel.
Sorry to be redundant, but I just appreciate someone cutting through the bullshit and simply telling you what you need to know. So thinks again Jerad for all the fun and informations you share with all of us.
    Bang!

  18. how to learn to sharpen knives : listen to this guy, then go buy a straight razor, and learn to sharpen it good enough to shave YOUR OWN face with…at that point, you will know what it takes, and how to do it……OnWard……

  19. Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I’ll pick up a set. Question. Do you put any pressure on the knife when you sharpen “ watched your tutorial video, but did not mention” ? Thanks again.

  20. This looks like one of those crappy stones they sell on amazon!
Did they send you this foe review?
Looks like it’s wears down fast already

  21. good morning!! I bought this kit of stones, 400/1000 and 3000/8000, after watching your video, amazing!! so, as soon as I bought it, I used the 4 stones, because my knives were very bad … now, I just want to do a "maintenance", to keep them with a fine cut (now, they are still good/reasonable, but not as good as on the first days after I sharpened) … in this scenario, which one of the stones do you suggest to use?

  22. Wow. I wish I had come across your video a year ago. I’ve been frustrated with figuring out how to sharpen and keep my kitchen knives sharp. Excellent video. Trying to cut meat and veggies is so maddening and ending up feeling like you are chopping things into pieces instead of cutting food into slices. I’m ordering this kit right now. I appreciate your tutorial.

  23. Do you still approve of these stones? They don’t go bad after a couple of uses or anything? Thank you!

  24. On the instruction manual it says not to soak the 3000 and above grit. Does that really matter or?

  25. Will this system work for Narex Richter (Cryo) or paring chisels and slicks? If not ,what do you recommend?
